My First Fashion Week Show!
I'm at the Red Heart show. It's the kick-off show to fashion week and it's to support women's heart disease, which is the number one killer of women in America, so it's really important. They do it with all celebrities and all designers to really support the cause. I was sitting in the audience because I dressed Valerie Bertinelli for the event. Tons of designers. Donna Karan, Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera and they asked me which is SUCH an honor.
First Tim Gunn comes out and he's so cute and so fabulous and there's so many amazing women in the seats. It literally was filled with every heart disease survivor and all these women in their red ponchos and onesies. The show begins and the first girl out is Amanda Bynes. And she is wearing Swarovski, which is basically this amazing Swarovski belt and this amazing Swarovski bracelet. But she is wearing the TINIEST mini-cocktail dress that you've ever seen! So short, it was a little too short! But she looked amazing.
There were two or three divas of the show. Vivica Fox came out in this full sequined gown and she had the longest hair weave of her life. It was a shock, it was inspiring to women. She was somebody that looks amazing and I felt her energy. It was really really great.
Also. Cicily Tyson. Literally she is 100 years old. But she looks so amazing. She was wearing this huge puffy sleeve, Edwardian look. It was gorgeous. She was the opposite of Vivica. Still strong and amazing woman, but older generation. Supporting that older generation who was in the audience watching the show.
Tori Spelling was hilarious. Wearing Betsey Johnson. Totally fun, totally cute, very 90210, I loved it.
The funniest part of the show, is I'm sitting next to Kellie Pickler from American Idol and how funny is she?, all she could talk about was the shoes. It was SO cute. Her first fashion week ever, which is so interesting because she was on American Idol, like, 3 years ago. She was sooo excited to be here. All of these women were coming up to her and telling her how she inspired them, and Kellie was like “oh, you inspired me!” She was just the sweetest girl! Everything that's on television— she is the same.
Valerie Bertinelli looked soooo stunning, she was really amazing.
Now I'm backstage in the MAYHEM. It's out of control. Jenny Garth getting all these photos. Jenny Garth looks amazing. Beaded top, long luscious gown. Photographs like crazy. Tim Gunn looking over her shoulder like, ‘what's going on?!?'
