Henrik Lundquist!

JLo, Eva Mendez, Hillary Swank, Tyra Banks, Blake Lively, Kanye West, whatever. At the Tommy Hilfiger show, I saw New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundquist!

Luckily, the Venn diagram between fashion mavens and NHL fans doesn't have much overlap, so I got to spend a lot of time talking to Lundquist.

Lundquist, who as you know from the Olympic gold medal game two years is ago, is Swedish, is also one of the best-dressed hockey players in the league. I asked him what he thought of my outfit and he suggested I lose the J Crew khaki jacket and banish beige from my wardrobe altogether. "Keep it simple: black, white, grey," he said.

He had a grey Hugo Boss shirt, a while shirt, a black skinny tie, a white pockey square and these crazy shiny black pointy patent leather shoes with little dot divets in them made by a Swedish shoe designer called Tiger.

Lundquist, who gives fashion advice to his teammates since they have to wear suits before and after games, was on to the skinny tie thing before the U.S. magazines. He was proud of that. The Penguins may have gotten to the Cup finals, but they don't dress as well.

Lundquist was looking for more shows to go to, so I hooked him up with a connection for the Ralph Lauren show tomorrow. My fashion connections are already coming in way handy.
