In My Opinion

This blog is supposed to be about different perspectives on fashion. It's supposed to be a fashion writer/critic's perspective, Kate Betts, a straight adonis goldfarb-type guy who doesn't understand why women wear clothes at all, Joel Stein, and me, the person who makes clothes. For my part, I will say it's hard-- impossible to reckon with criticism so soon after pouring one's heart out for weeks and weeks. It's hard for me to utter even the tiniest chirp at the moment. And i'm so opinionated, usually you can't shut me up. It's just that one hears so many contrary notes. Some people think it's too moody others think it's too facile. So who do you listen to? In a way you can't listen to anyone. You have to listen to the imaginary muse who lives in your head. in a few weeks from now when the dust settles the muses will be heard from again and they will weigh in on what was good and what was bad and in the meantime it's important to cool one's heels and listen to nothing but Law & Order reruns. Sorry Joel, this means you too. I know you liked Michael Kors but I fear it's cause you like breasts and you can't be objective about them. Who's idea was this? Hiring me to blog about fashion week anyway?
